چکیده
HE PURPOSES OF THE PRESENT PAPER are to describe some new sensitive tests suitable for the detection of bile in biologic fluids which overcome the defects demonstrated in procedures described in most standard texts, and also to confirm the experiments of C. E. May et at. (1). The sensitivity of the proposed oxidation tests to detect bilirubin, viz. ferricyanide, molybdate, N-bromosuccinimide (2, 3), N-chlorosuccinimide (4), and dichromate tests, is compared with the previously known Gmelin, Fouchet, Obermeyer, Nakayama, iodine and nitrite tests. Similarly a comparison of the proposed diazo tests, i.e., diazochlorides obtained from various members of sulfonamides, as well as from the aromatic amines previously tested by May et at. (1), with the previously known diazotized sulfanilic acid test is reported.

The Frequency of Bacterial Agents in the Bile Juice of Patients with Bile Stones and Biliary Disorders
Abstract Background and objectives: Bile in healthy people is a sterile fluid and presence of any microorganism can be a marker for a disorder like cholelithiasis. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of bacterial agents in the bile of patients with bilestone, malignant pancreatic and biliary diseases. Material and Methods: One hundred and two bile samples were obtained, during ...
متن کاملLeptospirosis and immune-mediated hemolytic anemia: A lethal association
Immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) is a common cause of anemia in dogs. The immune aggression towards erythrocytes can be triggered by many pathological conditions such as infection, inflammatory disease or neoplasia. Upon ruling out any eliciting conditions, a diagnosis of the primary immune-mediated disease can be made. In this particular case of severe anemia (tested positive for circul...
متن کاملDetection of Helicobacter DNA in Bile Samples of Patients with Biliary Diseases Living in South of Iran
Background: It has been reported that several species of Helicobacter colonize the biliary tract of animals and human, but their participation in hepatobiliary diseases are not established. This study is undertaken to determine if Helicobacter genus members, especially with regard to H. pylori, could be detected in the bile and gallbladder diseases. Methods: Thirty-eight gallbladder tissues and...
متن کاملIS BILE SCOLECIDAL?
Spillage of scoleces is a major problem in surgery of hydatid cysts, because each of them may develop into a new cyst if it settles on a suitable site such as the peritoneum. Many surgeons believe that scoleces in ruptured hydatid cysts of the liver containing bile are not able to develop new cysts, because bile kills thein. In order to prove this idea, the viability of scoleces in such cys...
متن کاملSuitability of MRS-bile Agar for the Selective Enumeration of Mixed Probiotic Bacteria in Presence of Mesophilic Lactic Acid Cultures and Yoghurt Bacteria
Measuring the viability of probiotic microorganisms in food products using plate count methodology is a common practice due to the simplicity (ease of performance), inexpensive and routine testing characters ofthis method. In present study, the suitability of de man rogosa and sharpe agar (MRS) bile agar medium forthe selective enumeration of mixed probiotic bacteria (Lactobacillus ...
